Blc. Against the Wind (Blc. Michael Gaine x Blc. Dream Trader) - May Special
Blc. Against the Wind (name pending) is a backdoor approach to a remake of Blc. Goldenzelle (Fortune x Horace). Blc. Fortune is one parent of Michael Gaine and C. Horace is one parent of Blc. Dream Trader. Michael Gaine is a strong yellow-gold with a bold red picotee. Dream Trader is an exceptionally nice, large pink which introduces the spring-blooming C. mosiae. Colors of this new hybrid, an exclusive of Fender`s Flora, will range from yellow/pumpkin to rosy pinks with a fall and spring bloom season. The flowers will be fragrant, too. The photos are of one of the first to bloom for us. We are offering this orchid, regularly priced at $35, at a 20% discount as our May special. Blc. Williette Wong `The Best`, AM/AOS
This is one of the best yellow cattleyas we have ever seen. The very large, well-shaped flowers are clear canary yellow. The dark fuchsia red lip with yellow veining and yellow eyes makes this orchid outstanding! If you want your friends to ``ooh and ahhh`` over your orchids, you gotta have this one! This is a fragrant, standard cattleya and is a late spring bloomer. Every time this orchid blooms for us, we say WOW! These orchids are in sheath now - to bloom typically in June.

Potinara Susan Fender `Cover Girl`
Carter and Holmes Orchids made this cross and named it for me. The varietal name of this mericlone, `Cover Girl`, was given by Gene Crocker because he used this orchid on the cover of one of their catalogs. One of our newsletters tells the story of Pot. Susan Fender `Cinnamon Stick`, AM/AOS. This is a standard catt that blooms twice per year, in the spring and fall. The flowers are wonderfully fragrant.

Potinara Susan Fender `Newberry`
There have been several very nice flowers to come out of the cross of Pot. Caesar`s Head #1` x Lc. Mary Ellen Carter `Dixie Hummingbird`, HCC/AOS to make Pot. Susan Fender. This form has been given the varietal name of `Newberry`. These are mericlones of this selected form. Enjoy fragrant blooms twice per year - spring and fall - with this standard-sized cattleya.

Cattleya Brabantiae (`El Toro` x `Dixie Spots`)
These are a sib cross between two wonderful forms of C. Brabantiae. `El Toro` is our selected form and it received an AM/AOS. `Dixie Spots` is a selected form owned by Keith Davis. The growth habit is wandering and does best mounted on a raft or in a basket. We grow our stock plants on cork or in baskets with lava rock and treefern chunks (fibers aligned vertically so the roots follow the water). These bloom off and on all year. Definitely worth the effort! These are in 6 inch cedar baskets in bark. The photos are of one of the first to bloom for us. Beautiful!

Lc. Dorothy Oka #1`
This is a selected form of a very good Lc. Dorothy Oka. These are NOT mericlones. The large, fragrant flowers are crystal white with red splashing and intense red lips. This vigorous, standard catt blooms during the winter/spring . ``Oka`` is a very famous orchid name from Hawaii and always deserves respect and attention. Limited availability on these established divisions from our stock area.

Lc. Lauren Oka `Nicole`
This is a mericlone of Lc. Amber Glow x C. Horace. The large, fragrant flowers are cream-colored with golden-yellow throats and intense red lips. This vigorous, standard catt blooms during the winter/spring and produces magnificent specimen plants with flowers all around the plant. ``Oka`` is a very famous orchid name from Hawaii and always deserves respect and attention. These are established divisions of our stock plant.
