Blc. Against the Wind (Blc. Michael Gaine x Blc. Dream Trader)

Packing and shipping for all orders is only $15.00 Blc. Against the Wind (recently named) is a backdoor approach to a remake of Blc. Goldenzelle (Fortune x Horace). Blc. Fortune is one parent of Michael Gaine and C. Horace is one parent of Blc. Dream Trader. Michael Gaine is a strong yellow-gold with a bold red picotee. Dream Trader is an exceptionally nice, large pink which introduces the spring-blooming C. mosiae. Colors of this new hybrid, an exclusive of Fender`s Flora, will range from yellow/pumpkin to rosy pinks with a fall and spring bloom season. The majority of these that we have bloomed have been very nice, large pinks with a pleasing fragrance. Very good growers and bloomers. The photos are of one of the first to bloom for us. Lc. (C.G. Roebling `Beechview` x Alarcon `Adagie`)
This is a cross between two select blues done to intensify the blue, especially in the lips of this new cross. There are blue forms of many of the cattleya species. This current breeding has used some of the best. These will be standard sized catts and will bloom in the spring/early summer. The fact that Ervin Granier has received a number of awards on several Lc. Alarcons gives us confidence in this cross. Ervin is the top current breeder of blues and he is an awesome grower. Epicattleya [Purple Glory x Epi. Sietetrescuatros (734)] xx Encyclia Standard Setter
There are several wonderful Encyclia species, some rarely seen in orchid breeding, included in this hybrid. These species are combined with two proven parents, C. violacea and Enc. Orchid Jungle. We expect upright spikes of fragrant, dark purples to very, very dark mahoganies. The bloom season will be late spring into summer. These are large vigorous plants with plump, round pseudobulbs. Cattleya schilleriana var. sanderiana - species
C. schilleriana is a compact grower with very attractive red mottled foliage. This foliage only gives a clue to the heavily spotted, waxy flowers with broad lips. The 3 to 4 inch flowers of this species are very fragrant. This species blooms in the late spring to early summer. C. schilleriana prefers to be mounted on a plaque or planted in a basket to allow for its wandering growth habit and drainage. These are mounted on rafts or baskets and will bloom within a year.

Encyclia Moonlight Shadows
We selected this group of Encyclias from hundreds of plants blooming. Our critera was color intensity and wide lips. These are a dark chocolate mahogany color and the fragrance is the best part! Enc. Moonlight Shadows is 3/4 Enc. cordigera and 1/4 Enc. alata. These are vigorous growers, putting on lots of new growth and multiple pseudobulbs each year for their next bloom season. Lc. Tai Rose (C. Landate x Lc. Maui Plum)
This is a hybrid from our friend, Leonard Gines, near Hilo, Hawaii. We absolutely love the possibilities from this hybrid. We expect tall-growing plants with massive heads of flowers ranging from wine-red to almost black. The spotting may be obvious or there may be so many spots that the flowers appear to be one color. The orchids will be waxy and fragrant and will bloom for months in the fall and during late spring into the summer. This is a must-have!! Blc. Williette Wong `The Best`, AM/AOS
This is one of the best yellow cattleyas we have ever seen. The very large, well-shaped flowers are clear canary yellow. The dark fuchsia red lip with yellow veining and yellow eyes makes this orchid outstanding! If you want your friends to ``ooh and ahhh`` over your orchids, you gotta have this one! This is a standard cattleya and is a spring/early summer bloomer.
